1962 Chevrolet Chevy II Nova 400
October 31, 1996: This is my 1962 Chevy II 2D HT, close to original except for missing rocker moldings, wheel covers, and front fender louver chrome. Looks fine, runs great, and appraised at $4,800.00 (for what it’s worth), but I like it and it’s paid for.

Being a mechanic for Chevrolet cars, I have always looked out for that eye-catching car. It was found when my family and I were on our summer vacation miles from home. Out of the corner of my eye there she was, but being in a rush to get to out vacation spot I had to pass her up. For two weeks the old saying was going through my mind "if you pass it up you might never see it again." That did it. We packed up early and off we went. Luckily she was still there. After a good look over I put our extra vacation money up for the deposit; she was mine at last. The next problem was getting her home. How would she run? Would she leave me on the side of the road four hours from home? Not a chance. Now every time we drive in her I still have that ear-to-ear smile. Every Wednesday night we show at Ottawa’s own cruise night with up to 200 other stock and custom cars, but living in Canada has its problems. Snow and winter: six months of waiting for summer fun.
